Soccer camp

Both Emma & Sam participated in a soccer camp hosted by Freeport Area Soccer. It was a 5 day camp every evening M-F. The program was done by Youth Elite Soccer. Both girls had a great time, and got to meet new friends. They really enjoyed the instructors who were mostly from England!

Soccer girls!

This is Sam's first "official" season on a soccer team! So I guess that would make this Emma's 3rd year? (wow) You can tell, because Sam is happily wearing Emma's first pair of cleats! They both love playing soccer.... and in the brightest shirts you can find, apparently.

Fall soccer season

Emma played soccer this fall for the Middletown Mountain Lions U8 team. She learned a ton this season and is looking forward to the spring season. One of her favorite things to do was to throw in the ball ~ she also had a great time playing goalie a few times!

Let the games begin!

Emma had her first soccer practice this past Thursday, and her first "game" today! Game is in quotes, because they only play 3-on-3 and the kids mostly fall on the ground more than kick the ball. But it's really fun to watch! ;)
Here are pictures from today's game.
For the first half of the game, Emma just ran around the field following the crowd, following the ball. After I had a little chat with her (the coaches never even explained to them the object of the game), she came out of her shell for the second half and even scored a goal!!! I think she's really going to like soccer, and be pretty good, too. :)
